The average number of fatalities per mile is 0.730, and the most common accidents are two-car accidents and rollovers. In the five years from 2011 to 2015, there were 1,402 traffic fatalities.

Interstate 10 is a whopper at 2,460 miles, and it begins in Santa Monica, California, and ends in Jacksonville, Florida. The average number of fatalities per mile is 0.703, and the deadliest city on its path is Houston, Texas. In the years between 2011 and 2015, there were 1,703 traffic deaths (the largest number by far of any of these top 25). The most common accidents that lead to death on I-10 are two-car accidents, rollovers, and pedestrian accidents. I-10 ranks as the sixth most dangerous highway in the nation.
